Welcome to 1st Narellan Scout Group
~ The Friendly Scouts ~
1st Narellan Scout Group - The Friendly Scouts - is one of the largest, most active and most successful Scout groups in the Hume Region, which stretches in a band along the route of the old Hume Highway from Concord to Picton.
Established in 1964, 1st Narellan Scout Group has served the Narellan and surrounding communities through its dedication to the ideal that young people will make better citizens and be happier individuals if their natural enthusiasm and desire for adventure, and to be with friends, are allied to a sense of purpose and achievement.
Our Scout Group has four age-specific sections:
- Joey Scouts - for those aged 5 to 8 years-old (and must be in 'big' school, or eligible to be, if home-schooled)
- Cub Scouts - for those aged 8 to 11 years-old
- Scouts - for those aged 11 to 14 years-old
- Venturer Scouts - for those aged 14 to 17 years-old
Our sections meet during the school terms at our Scout hall at Narellan. Each section has volunteer leaders who provide a wide range of engaging and exciting activities both indoors at the hall and at a variety of outdoor locations. Our youth members play games, learn the basics and hone their skills in bushcraft, camping, safety in the outdoors and outdoor survival skills, go on adventures such as bushwalking, hiking, cycling/scootering, swimming, canoeing and indoor rock climbing, and participate in community events and activities such as ANZAC Day and the Camden Show.
Our team of volunteer leaders are committed to providing guidance, support and mentorship to your child throughout their Scouting journey. Together, we strive to create an environment where your child can thrive and gain valuable experiences.
You are invited to bring your child along to their age-specific section's evening to meet the unit and to try out Scouting - please visit our Registration page to register your child - select New Member, Temporary Membership, Trial Period. Parents/carers are welcome to stay during the free trial period of up to 4 weeks.
We look forward to accompanying you and your child on their Scouting journey!
