Become an Adult Leader
Your child doesn't have to be the only one that joins in the fun!
Have you ever thought about becoming a volunteer Adult Leader in Scouting?
Being an Adult Leader in Scouting has lots of benefits that go beyond giving back to others. Not only does it have a positive impact on the lives of young people, but it can also improve your health and relationships with others! In fact, research shows a correlation between well-being, happiness, health, and longevity and those people who participate in volunteer activities like being a Leader. The experience of helping others gives people meaning, a sense of self-worth, a social role and health enhancement, which makes them feel more involved in their local communities, and more connected to others.
With new experiences also comes endless opportunities for skill development, opening up doors to career progression and other opportunities beyond Scouting.
Becoming a volunteer Adult Leader is free, but does require you to hold a current Working With Children Check (also free) - if you don't have one, please apply via the Service NSW website. Once you have obtained your Working With Children Check, you can apply to become an Adult Leader via our Registration page - select New Member, Full Member, New Leader.
The uniform, all training, Leader registration fees and all activity Leader fees are covered by the Group, not to mention the unlimited FUN, comradery and exercise in the great outdoors! Plus, by becoming a volunteer Adult Leader at 1st Narellan Scout Group, your child's Group Membership Fees are waived!
Please contact our Group Leader, John Hallett (Bandaarr), at GL.1stNarellan@nsw.scouts.com.au for further information or to assist.
