Introductory/Moderate Hike on easy terrain starting from St Helens Park and walking within Warranmadhaa National Park.

Activity Information

Activity Information: this Activity is being held to increase Scouts exposure to a longer hike yet on easy – moderate terrain. This will assist Scout in upcoming longer and slightly more technical. This will support the Scouts growth and development in hiking and appreciation for the outdoors.

Food and Water: Scouts need to bring 1.5 - 2L of water, lunch and snacks in a suitable daypack.

Clothing: Scouts will need to wear uniform top with scarf, preferably long pants, sturdy enclosed shoes for trail walking, a wide brim hat, additional layers they can take on or off if they are feeling cold or warm, plus a raincoat. If youth do not bring a wide brim hat Dundee will supply one of his embarrassing hats for the youth to wear.

Additional Items to bring:

· Compass (if you have one)

· First Aid Kit

· Roll on insect repellent

· Pencil and note pad

· Any other supplies i.e. maps etc that you receive in advance of the hike

· Head lamp (always in case of an emergency)

· One extra meal (always in case of an emergency)

**If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, please stay home.**

Method of transport to and from the activity: Own with recomendation for carpooling.
